Post Desert

I don't know what's been going on lately but it seems like everyone has been taking a break from posting, including me. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's too hot or everyone's been too busy. I know I've been doing some kind of event every weekend and it's been crazy.

Andy and I have been going a lot of places that we haven't been to before. After 6 years of reenactments, we've decided to try do to some new events, non-reenactment events and places.

Obviously, we haven't left the hobby, but our schedules are now jam packed. We've definitely discovered some new things we'd like to do in the future.I'm looking forward to posting about some of the fun places we visit but my blogging habits have been terrible lately.

Blogger keeps making it harder and harder to post. I've hit my image max which means I have to host somewhere else and link to my images and has really been giving me problems with formatting to the extent that I dread trying to post things that I've written up. :( I know a lot of people hit their image max and switched to wordpress.

We'll see if some of these technical issues have been affecting other bloggers' will's to blog. I for one am grateful that blogger has let me post so long for free but a paid for site is not in my immediate future. I'll keep everyone updated if I decide to pick up and move to another host or domain but I'd rather not do that.

Has anyone else been having blogger formatting problems or image problems?

  1. When you refer to reaching your Blogger limit, do you mean you've reached the 1GB limit or a hard limit on the number of pictures regardless of size? I've managed to keep my byte usage low by shrinking my images before I upload them to Picasa, and if anyone wants a higher resolution image I e-mail it to them.

I hope you will overcome the image issues: you have a wonderful blog. :) I am, however, pleased to hear about your recent real-life activities. :)

    1. I hit the size limit but in order to fix it I'd have to go back and re-size everything. Ugh. :)

Had I known there was a limit when I started, I probably would have uploaded small images.

  2. You're so pretty. :) It sounds like you had a great few weeks. I hope you get a chance for more exploration.

    1. Thanks so much! I have been having a good time. I hope you enjoy your birthday.

  3. I never realized there was a 1GB limit. I wonder if there is any way of finding out how close you are to that limit.
Anyhow, I didn't care for the "new" blogger they put on us so I went back to the old version. I don't know why they keep "fixing" something that ain't broke!
As for lack of blogging...I know what you mean. Maybe the heat of late spring is getting to me because I'm having an awful time coming up with something to blog about.
So, I suppose in our season of time-travel, my postings will be more pictures than anything else.
You should post some photos of your travel and other reenacting adventures with captions. I'm sure most of us would find that interesting!

    1. You can find out your limit on picasa.com. I think you are right. I'll probably have a lot more photo posts especially since I got a new camera. Maybe I'll think up a good history questionnaire for all of us history bloggers to fill out and post.

Tell me what you think!
